Supports Advanced Search Options of Source Engines
When a user enters a query in the form of a single word or multiple words, with or without Boolean operators (e.g. AND, OR, NOT), Velocity Content Integrator will automatically translate the query string into the appropriate syntax for each of the underlying search engines, databases or other sources.
De-Duplication
Goes beyond removing exact duplicates based on key matches (titles, URLs, etc.), and can remove near duplicates based on content.
Versatile Design
Queries any type of search engine, even those that use frames, sessions or passwords. Any database can be queried using simple CGI wrappers.
Universal Connect
Plug-and-play connectivity to third-party search and content applications including Documentum, SharePoint, Exchange, Oracle, Lotus Notes and more.1 Velocity can also connect to any source accessible through a Web browser or that supports standard protocols like LDAP and Z39.50.
Integrated User Authentication
Maintains authentication through username/password repository. Users will have a single sign-on eliminating the need to manage duplicate user accounts.
Fast & Scalable
Calling 10 search engines and retrieving around 20 search results per source uses 100 ms of CPU time and a few MB of memory.
Footnotes
