Vice President of Sales with strong interaction ties to Director of Customer Support, Chief Scientist, Chief Technology Officer, as well as technical support and development teams.
Major Eastern-US market hubs (NYC/Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Dallas) or Pittsburgh HQ desired, but location also open depending on individual.
Candidate key capabilities and responsibilities:
Become a catalyst driving Vivísimo's market opportunity.
- Proactively seek out new sales opportunities by developing new and existing technical relationships within accounts and prospects
- Establish effective-working relationship with Sales executives, management and technical team members.
- Participate in Sales Forecasting and Opportunity Management process
- Support and represent Vivísimo at partner seminars and industry trade shows
Prospect Discovery/Solution Overviews and Presentations:
- Understand and uncover customer requirements and pains relative to "Information Overload and Overlook," and map to our unique value statement.
- Present and maintain market-specific demonstrations for use during the pre-sales phase.
- Training of channel and OEM partners on both technical product detail and "pre-sales" positioning.
Solution Development and Vivísimo Trial/Evaluations
- Drive the design of customer-oriented solutions combining Vivísimo and potentially third-party products with integration and professional services.
- Serve as the technical sales lead and liaison from customer transitioning to Vivísimo Technical Support team during trial or evaluation phase.
- Maintain trial / evaluation scope control and success criteria
- Assist customer in business case justifications and needs analysis.
- Understand criteria needed to close the sales opportunity, and work with sales team to solidify the commitment
Candidate Experience and Requirements:
- BA/BS or equivalent required, engineering discipline or equivalent training desired.
- Minimum 5-8 years of pre-sales, technical sales and/or consulting experience required.
- Extensive background in Web technologies, both infrastructure (including x86 Server platforms, Windows Server and Linux operating system expertise, Web Servers - Apache, IIS) as well as protocols (XML, XSL, etc.)
- Software Industry experience required.
- Enterprise Search industry background desirable, but not required. Enterprise application experience (ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence, etc) also would be a desirable fit. Security and systems-level software experience would also be considered.
- Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences. Must exhibit ability to speak in front of large audiences.
- Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to travel up to 50-75 percent of the time, including international if necessary.
